Old Fish, Fresh Perspectives: Alumni Inspire Current Students at the Annual Careers Convention 2025

On 26 September, New Hall School was proud to host the annual Careers Convention, a vibrant and inspiring event that brought together current students and a remarkable number of Old Fish who generously gave up their time to support the next generation.

We were absolutely delighted by the turnout of alumni, whose presence made a lasting impact.  Their willingness to return to the School and share their journeys, insights, and advice was not only heartwarming but deeply valuable.  There’s something uniquely powerful about hearing from someone who once sat in the same classrooms, walked the same corridors, and faced the same choices.  That shared experience creates a connection that no textbook or career guide can replicate.

For our students, meeting alumni who have carved out diverse and successful paths was both motivating and enlightening.  Whether it was a conversation about university life, navigating the first job, or discovering unexpected career twists, the guidance offered by our Old Fish was full of authenticity and relevance.  These interactions helped students see the possibilities ahead and gave them practical tools to start shaping their own futures.

We are always looking to grow this community of support.  If you are a past student and would like to be involved in future careers events, we would love to hear from you.  We run a variety of initiatives throughout the year, including subject-focused networking events, Mock Interview Days, and Work Experience opportunities, all designed to help current students explore their options and build confidence.

Your story could be the spark that inspires someone else.  Please get in touch if you would like to be part of it.
