Careers and Mentoring |
On Thursday 6 February 2025 we hosted a Careers and Alumni Networking event for our Year 10, 11, and 12 students, focused on Humanities and Social Sciences. Four Old Fish returned to New Hall to share their career journeys and the impact their subject choices had on their professional paths.
The event provided students with invaluable insights into how studying Humanities and Social Sciences can shape their future options. Our alumni spoke candidly about their experiences in both their academic and professional lives, offering practical advice and encouragement to those who may be considering similar pathways.
After the presentations, students had the opportunity to engage in small, informal group sessions with each speaker. This gave them the chance to ask questions and get personalised advice on how to navigate their own academic and career decisions. The event allowed for meaningful one-on-one conversations, creating an open and supportive atmosphere for students to learn from the experiences of those who once sat in their seats. Events like this are vital in helping students gain a broader perspective on the many career pathways available to them.
