Who do you think of when someone says 'doctor', 'hairdresser', or 'pilot'?
In this careers event for Years 5 and 6 is designed to challenge stereotypical thinking in careers, and we are looking for volunteers to support us.
If you, or anyone you know, is currently working in an industry or role that may be perceived as gender biased, and you would be willing to give up half a day to work with our pupils, we would love to hear from you.
The workshop will involve speaking to students in small groups, answering questions and possibly hosting an activity related to your role.
Whilst a future career may seem a long way off for primary age children, we would like to ensure that the connection between what our students learn in school and the careers they are interested in is based on their own skills and aspirations and not limited by stereotypes.
If you would like to get involved, please contact Mrs Julie Hilliker.
