I am delighted to announce that this term we will be reintroducing the New Hall Literary Dinner, the last took place some eight years ago. This year’s event will take place on the evening of Friday 8 March.
Our guest speaker will be author and journalist, Jimmy Burns. Jimmy, a colleague of mine on the board of The Tablet, is the author of A Faithful Spy, an amazing biography of Walter Bell an intelligence officer. Jimmy, who knew Bell, had unique access to his papers after his death. The book gives an insight into the intelligence special relationship that developed between Britain and America before, during and immediately after WW2 – the very time that MI6 had been infiltrated by Russian intelligence.
